About Us
Born and raised in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Rick Carlson, owner of Lorric Logging, grew up on a dairy farm. Rick moved to Washington State in 1980. With a farmer’s work ethic established, Rick entered the logging industry during the summers while attending Washington State University studying Forestry.
Deciding school was not as exciting as logging, he left the world of higher education, starting out as a tree topper and timber bucker for a local cutting contractor. Moving on, he went to work for the Miller Shingle Co. in Granite Falls, WA for 4 ½ years learning the industry and gaining experience.
After marrying his wife Lori in April of 1989, they started their business, Lorric Logging that summer with the purchase of their first piece of equipment-a 1974 Clark 667 Skidder which they still have today. A weekend business the first couple of years became their full time occupation in 1992.
In 1993 a daughter, Kelsey, was born and in 2001 their son, Daniel was brought into the family. When not working Rick enjoys attending St. Andrew’s Orthodox Church in Arlington, WA, playing soccer and hunting in the fall. Lori is a teacher in Granite Falls, WA school district and has taught in Arlington and Lake Stevens, Washington.
